The Online+ Beta Bulletin: March 24-30, 2025

Welcome to this week’s Online+ Beta Bulletin — your go-to source for the latest feature updates, bug fixes, and behind-the-scenes tweaks to ION’s flagship social media dApp, brought to you by ION’s Product Lead, Yuliia.

As we edge closer to launching Online+, your feedback is helping us shape the platform in real time — so keep it coming! Here’s a quick rundown of what we tackled last week and what’s next on our radar.

🌐 Overview

This past week, our team focused on rolling out new features across Chat, Feed, and Profile, while tackling a range of bugs to streamline performance. Chat now supports quoted replies and includes limits for text, voice, and video uploads, plus an enhanced gallery experience when using the camera button. Over on the Feed, you’ll find media editing and video-pausing capabilities, alongside newly introduced limits for post length and media uploads. We also gave the Profile module a fresh, more intuitive design to make navigation smoother.

On the bug-fix front, we addressed issues with duplicated images, missing thumbnails, and hashtag detection, ensuring a more stable and user-friendly experience. We’ve also resolved a few lingering hiccups related to system bar behavior, video playback, and self-follow errors in Profile. With these improvements in place, Online+ continues to move closer to a polished, stable release — and we’re excited to keep the momentum going.

💬 Yuliia’s Take

This past week, the momentum has really picked up as we near the finish line. We’ve managed to clear out the backlog across all modules and have started working on the final-phase features we’ve been saving. It’s been exciting to watch so many of our core functionalities running smoothly, and to see fewer bugs reported by our beta testers.

Now, it’s all about wrapping up those last features and stabilizing the application. The team’s energy is high, and there’s a real buzz on our Slack channel as we push forward. Online+ is becoming really polished, streamlined, and a joy to use — we’re almost there!

📢 Extra, Extra, Read All About It!

Another week, another bucketload of partnership announcements!

We’re thrilled to welcome the latest newcomers to Online+ and the Ice Open Network ecosystem:

  • VESTN will introduce tokenized real-world assets and fractional ownership to Online+, enabling a broader audience to access high-value investments. Leveraging the ION Framework, VESTN will build a community-driven dApp that fosters investor engagement and democratizes entry to traditionally exclusive asset classes.
  • Unizen will deliver cross-chain DeFi aggregation, deep liquidity, and AI-optimized trading to Online+. By building a community-focused trading and analytics dApp on the ION Framework, Unizen will give traders seamless, gasless swaps and real-time routing insights, all within a decentralized social environment.

We’ve been on a roll these past few weeks, and this week will be no different, so keep your firmly on our socials for the latest news.

🔮 The Week Ahead

This week, we’ll be wrapping up a few final core features for the Wallet, including a Send/Receive flow that integrates user Chat notifications. We’re also making some major updates to transaction history and expect to have it fully functional in our test environment.

On the social side, we plan to introduce the ability to edit articles, implement a language-switch feature, and finalize Chat search. It’s shaping up to be another busy, exciting week as we push these key improvements forward!

We’re off to a great start — it’s looking like another successful week ahead!
