Each time someone boosts a post, a small ION fee is applied and split evenly:
- 50% to the post’s creator, rewarding the source of the content.
- 50% to buy back and burn ION, reducing circulating supply.

Using Boosts in Online+
Boosting a post on Online+ is designed to be effortless and instantly impactful.
Here’s how it works:
- Tap the Boost icon under any post that resonates with you.
- Choose a boost amount — costs are displayed in USD for simplicity.
- Complete your payment securely through Apple Pay or Google Pay. Behind the scenes, that amount is automatically converted to ION and applied to the boost.
Your boost takes effect immediately, increasing visibility, rewarding the creator, and powering the ION buyback-and-burn cycle.
At launch, boosts will be processed via Apple Pay and Google Pay to make participation seamless for everyone, even those new to crypto. An in-app wallet option will be added in a later update, giving users more flexibility over how they fund their boosts.
