The Online+ Beta Bulletin: July 21–July 27, 2025

Welcome to this week’s Online+ Beta Bulletin — your go-to source for the latest feature updates, bug fixes, and behind-the-scenes tweaks to ION’s flagship social media dApp, brought to you by ION’s Product Lead, Yuliia.

As we edge closer to launching Online+, your feedback is helping us shape the platform in real time — so keep it coming! Here’s a quick rundown of what we tackled last week and what’s next on our radar.

🌐 Overview

With production release nearly in sight, the team pushed through another intense week of final fixes, interface polish, and background upgrades, all designed to make sure Online+ runs smoothly across every device, region, and relay.

Most of the attention last week went to the Feed — the heart of the experience — where users land, engage, and return daily. We’ve been fine-tuning how posts render, how videos behave, and how notifications are triggered and resolved. This is where Online+ shines, and we’re making sure every edge is smooth and responsive.

Meanwhile, a major infrastructure upgrade is now ready for testing. It’s been bundled into the latest internal build and will be shared with beta testers this week. Within days, we’ll open up the full production infrastructure and app to our partners and creators, giving them official early access to set up their profiles, upload content, and get ready to go live. It’s the first time Online+ will be available to anyone outside the team and our beta testers, and that’s major step toward launch.

The finish line is within arm’s reach now, and we’re making every last step over the next few days count.

💬 Yuliia’s Take

This past week was all about making sure the pieces not only fit, but function perfectly together. We introduced a major infrastructure upgrade behind the scenes, and that meant a full round of regression testing across the app, making sure the full system still works exactly as it should.

Right now, most of our attention is on polishing the Feed, which is the heart of the app. It’s where people land, explore, post, and connect, so it should feel like the smoothest, most welcoming online space, somewhere you want to spend time. This means that the minutest details — down to every pixel, swipe, and refresh — matter.

The effort has been intense, but it’s exactly the kind of focused sprint that gets us across the finish line. We’re locking it all in now, and that finish line gets closer by the day.

📢 Extra, Extra, Read All About It!

As we prep for launch, we want to make sure that you’re just as ready as we are. Now’s the time to get familiar with Online+!

  • Each Friday, the Online+ Unpacked series covers the app’s key features and differentiators. Last week, we explored how identity, ownership, and action all flow through your on-chain profile. Up next, we’ll dive into how the Online+ feed works, and why it’s designed for your interests, not engagement farming.
  • Our friends at BSCN are helping more people get to know Online+. Their latest article breaks down what sets the platform apart, from on-chain profiles and encrypted chat to real token rewards and the ION Framework powering it all. It’s a great intro for anyone curious about what we’re building. Check out their deep-dive

We’re building an infrastructure that’s as feature-packed as it is mission-led, and Online+ is its flagship. Get to know it before it goes live, and get ready to build the New Internet!

🔮 The Week Ahead

This week, we remain laser-focused on regression testing and bug fixing across the final builds to ensure that everything from login flows to story playback holds up under real-world conditions. With the new infrastructure upgrade now in place, we’ll also begin distributing this version to our beta testers to collect final feedback before launch.

Given all our efforts, we expect to roll out early access to the Online+ public version to our creators and partners by the end of the week, so that they can begin preparing their profiles and content. Then comes the final step: onboarding everyone who joined the early access waitlist.

We’re almost there now — this week, every detail is being polished, and every flow is being locked in before Online+ goes live for our partners, creators, and early birds. The finish line is right in front of us, and we’re sprinting.

Got feedback or ideas for Online+ features? Keep them coming and help us build the social media platform of the New Internet!
